Turtles often eat them and die because they have so much plastic in their stomachs.
Seabirds eat balls and plastic, after confusing them with fish eggs and crustaceans. This makes them very sick!
Whales take big gulps of water to feed , and may accidentally swallow plastic rubbish when feeding. The plastic stays in their gut and stops them digesting their food, leading to a slow death!
Seagulls and other birds also suffer lots of problems with plastic bags and so on. You can see an example in this video:
