4th GRADE UNIT 4: TOWN FAIR

Welcome to Unit 4. 
In this unit we'll learn how to buy things and how to pay for them with pounds and pence. But first of all, let's learn some new vocabulary.


It's time to listen to a new song. This has been taken from Quest 4, MACMILLAN. 


CHEESE RACE


This cheese race is celebrated in England every year. 
People from all over the world take part in it.
From the top of the hill a cheese is rolled, and competitors race down the hill after it. The first person over the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese.

You can't pay with euros in the U.K. 
You need POUNDS and PENCE.

There are lots of films that tell us about the story of King Arthur. This is one of the most famous. It was made in 1981 and was directed by John Boorman. One of the most important sequences of this films is when Arthur takes Excalibur sword out of the stone. You can see it in this video:
